The Kwok Jing Cultural Funds Association (覺證文教基金會) was founded in Hong Kong in June 1996. It is a non-profit organisation dedicated to culture, education and charity. Our mission is to pass on Chinese culture and promote traditional virtues, so that culture nourishes the heart, education inspires wisdom, and charity becomes real action that cares for society.
Through tai chi, tea culture and a range of cultural education activities, we help people experience the balance between stillness and movement and the respect at the heart of good relationships. We bring self-cultivation, gratitude towards parents and respect for elders into everyday life, strengthening family harmony and community support. We also promote energy saving, lower-carbon living and plant-based eating, encouraging people to value what they have, cherish nature and show care for life and the environment in the small things they do every day.
Why we started GiveHK
GiveHK (物有二生, “a second life for things”) carries this same spirit. Our free giveaway platform connects people who are willing to share with people in need, so that unused things stay useful, resources are valued, and people feel a little more warmth from one another. May every act of sharing pass on kindness, and every act of care add a little more harmony to our community.
Many useful things are thrown away when people move home, children grow up or life changes, while someone nearby often needs exactly those things. GiveHK is the bridge between the two.
Who can use it
Anyone in Hong Kong who has something to give, or needs something, can use GiveHK. Requesters do not have to prove their financial situation. Givers decide who receives an item based on how each person plans to use it and their pickup arrangements.
Always free
- Every item must be given for free. No fees, deposits or “lai see”.
- Items you receive are for your own use and must not be resold.
- The platform never charges users anything.
Who runs it
GiveHK was founded and is run by the Kwok Jing Cultural Funds Association Ltd. (覺證文教基金會), a government-registered non-profit charity. Registration number: 91/4753.
